Once upon a time, when I was directing a scene, I noticed my cinematographer had set up an incredibly beautiful shot.  When I asked about how exactly it was that he accomplished that, his answer was simple and to the point.  If you want to create a beautiful image, simply find something beautiful, and point a camera at it.

As a photographer and filmmaker, I am reliant on my subjects to help me produce the best image possible for my clients.  So, job number one, once I hit set, is to build an immediate rapport with my subjects, communicate clearly our objectives, and create a safe space where subjects feel free to let their talent show.

In this ten minute interview, I discuss my approach to working with talent and how I go about eliciting the performances that help my clients shine.
