COMPOSITE & CGI
I've put together these rough examples to give you an idea of the approach I have in mind in terms of compositing for the Viridian VFX. These aren't an exact one-to-one match, but these should give you an idea of capabilities.
CLIENT: WARNER BROTHERS/LOONEY TOONS
Need: To fuse real cinematography with it's legendary animation.
Solution: Shoot live-action video then add animated elements to characters and environment in post.
Description:
In this effects heavy campaign for Warner Brothers and Looney Toons, subjects were shot in real environments. They were then made to interact with CGI elements within those environments. In this example with gymnast Peng Peng Lee, additional VFX work was done to the location itself. For instance, the large Looney Toons mural on the back wall was in place of a real mural that existed in the real space.
CLIENT: NIKE
Need: Create images that tied it's tennis products to the upcoming French Open which is played on a clay surface.
Solution: Composite model shot in studio with exploding clay element shot separately in studio.
Description:
This is an example of a still composite shot in the studio. In this campaign, we shot the tennis player and racket in the studio. Separately, we shot exploding clay which was then married to the final composite during post.
THE PROCESS
In this rough example, I show you the basic steps of creating the composite. This is far from a polished version. Rather this meant simply to illustrate the steps. Create base image. Create background element (can either be motion or still). Then marry the two elements together to create a cohesive image.
