It all starts with a conversation.  We are looking to not only produce a pretty picture, but also to present the best possible representation of who you are and what you bring to the table.  After deciding on the best time for your appointment, we will discuss your personal brand, what attributes you most want to convey with your images, and decide on the best wardrobe and approach to match your style.

On set, I like to keep shoots fast and loose.  I fire away in rapid succession, but am meticulous in looking for the best images that show you at your best.  We are not just looking for A shot. We are looking for THE shot that will not only get you the audition, but help get you the part.

Following the shoot, I will perform a quick edit to ensure quality.  I will then prepare a private password protected proof gallery with the images from the shoot.  You will receive the link via email which you can use to view your choices, comment on your favorites, or even share the link with your representatives to get valuable feedback.  Once, you've decided on your three selects, I will retouch those images and deliver them to you online via WeTransfer for easy download.

How long is a session?

Most sessions last roughly one hour (excluding hair and makeup).

Do I own the copyright to my final images?

No.  While purchasing a session does allow you to market yourself, the images may not be used to market a brand or for publication.  To use the images for commercial or editorial purposes, you will need to license the picture from the photographer who is the legal owner of the copyright.  So, for example, printing up headshots for casting directors or posting to your personal website/social media is all good. Reselling the image to Coca-Cola for use in their ad or sending to Vanity Fair to feature in an article?  Still possible, but written consent and agreement on licensing fee would be required beforehand. This is the legal standard regardless of which photographer you choose.

I am an influencer?  Can I use these images to promote my brand sponsors?

No.  The rates listed here are for headshots for personal promotion only.  Promoting a third party (i.e. a company paying you to promote their product) would fall under commercial use.  Should you be looking to promote a third party product, feel free to email me a description of your project and I can provide you with a complete quote for commercial usage.

Do you provide hair and makeup?

Hair and makeup services are not included in the package fee.  I can, however, put you in contact with a number of makeup artists if you would like to contract them for the session.

How long will it take for me to get my images?

Your password-protected web gallery will be online within 24 hours.  This will include all the images from the shoot following a photographer's edit for quality control - usually in the 50-60 image range - in low resolution watermarked form for you to make your selects.

Once you have made your selections for retouching, the final selects will be delivered to you within 72 hours via WeTransfer.

Is there a deposit required?

Yes.  There is a 50% deposit required to book your session.  The balance of payment is due at the beginning of the shoot.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payments can be made via check, credit card, or cash.  Cash customers should be sure to bring exact change. Credit card payments subject to a 3% surcharge.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations with a full refund of the deposit are accepted prior to 72 hours before the scheduled shoot time.

Do you offer refunds?

For technical failure only.  Photography, like any art, is highly subjective.  While I do my best to satisfy every client's needs, it is not practical to offer refunds on purely aesthetic grounds.  However, you are more than welcome to review our progress during the shoot, and suggest a new direction.

Does hair and makeup count against my shooting time?

If you decide to add hair and makeup to your package, the first hour of that time does not count against your shooting time. 

I'd like to rent out a location and do something really creative?  Is that included in the package?

Rates above apply for headshot sessions only.  

We can, however, absolutely do something elaborate and creative.  Let me know what you have in mind and I will provide you with a quote based on your individual vision.

I am a model looking to build my portfolio.  Is this the right package for me?

Why does the base package only come with three final selects versus just giving me all the images?

The objective of any session, especially headshots, is to get THE shot, not just A shot.  More is not necessarily more when it comes to presenting your best face to the world. But if you'd prefer to have all of those proofs in high resolution, you can add that as well for a rate double your package rate.  So, for example, to get all the proofs for a $450 package, the rate would start at $900 for the session.
